DESCRIPTION:
Unknown, Modern , 8 day, banjo or Patent timepiece, c1980
CONDITION:
Modern mahogany banjo timepiece in nice condition. The movement is marked E. O. Stennes as well as the weight. The tablets are by Tom Moberg. The problem is this case does appear to have the same quality of craftsmanship as would befit Stennes. Maybe someone was able to obtain a Stennes movement and weight and make their own case. The whole case has been finished inside and out with a heavy and shiny coat of varnish or shellac that is not typical of a Stennes. The lip on the throat panel and the banjo head are stamped 18 with no other markings, but overall it is still an attractive timepiece. Ht 29.5"
